Keep track of what’s on your computer and what its doing…
Install virus scanning software and/or run an online virus scan like Housecall.
Use a spyware removal tool like Spybot Search and Destroy.
Get a firewall / router… Like a Linksys Broadband router and install it. Run personal firewall software or enable XP’s built in firewall.
Use an alternative browser, like Mozilla or Firefox.
Use an alternative email client like Eudora or Mozilla / Thunderbird.
Never open attachments!
